Michelle Prince

Michelle Prince is an international criminal justice lawyer and reform advocate with over 23 years of experience. She has provided strategic legal and policy advice to government agencies, international organizations, and NGOs, including the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Department of State, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Lawyers Without Borders, and the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice.  Michelle has played pivotal roles in shaping legal frameworks, developing capacity-building programmes, and offering comprehensive legal guidance across diverse geopolitical landscapes.  

Michelle’s consultancy work involves providing strategic guidance and mentorship on criminal justice and legislative reform, counterterrorism, and combatting financial crimes, human trafficking, child exploitation and gender-based violence. She has designed and developed capacity-building initiatives across Africa, Europe, and Asia, including programmes in Afghanistan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Bangladesh.  As a former Assistant United States Attorney, she managed criminal investigations and prosecutions specialising in online child exploitation, human trafficking, and civil rights cases. In her role at the DOJ, National Security Division, she worked on classified litigation and domestic and international counterterrorism cases, collaborating extensively with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.  

In her leadership roles, including Acting Chief at the OSCE in Kosovo and DOJ, Resident Legal Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh, Michelle has designed and implemented comprehensive legal programmes, developed educational curricula, and trained judges, prosecutors, investigators and defence advocates. Michelle has an extensive background in legal advisory roles and brings a wealth of multicultural experience to her work.
